iPhone used to shoot criminals

Well, not quite. But in Brockton, Massachusetts, in the USofA, the police are using a new iPhone app named MORIS (Mobile Offender Recognition and Identification System).

MORIS lets the police take photos of people using their iPhones, and it then compares those images with images held in a database of criminal mugshots. Facial recognition technology is used to ascertain if the person is held within that database, and thus identify them.
