And boy, is this overdue!
Nokia are planning a complete rewrite of the Symbian Operatng System. Once the king of mobile phone OSes, Symbian has been under siege of late, first from Apple’s iOS, then Android, and now Windows Phone 7.
Due for release in 2011, the changes include a new look and feel for the user interface, a more flexible home screen, an updateable HTML5 browser and an easier software update experience. They’re also talking about support for dual core smartphones.
Will this be enough to bring Nokia back to the top of the heap, or will it be another case of the boat being missed?
